The Lotteries Commission of South Australia (Commission) is a statutory authority empowered by the State Lotteries Act 1966 (as amended) to promote and conduct lotteries for and on behalf of the State of South Australia.

Since our inception in 1967, our lottery games have generated more than $5 billion in prize money for South Australian players, $2 billion for State hospitals and $9 million for local recreation and sport.

In December 2012, Tatts Lotteries SA Pty Ltd was appointed as our exclusive Master Agent to operate the Commission’s brands and products.

The ownership of the Commission is retained by the South Australian Government and gambling tax revenue from the sale of lottery games by the Master Agent in South Australia is paid to the Hospitals Fund.

Our mission

To regulate the promotion and conduct of lotteries in South Australia.

Our values

In the regulation of the promotion and conduct of lotteries, we will operate with integrity, accountability and respect.

Our goals

  • To be a corporately responsible and respected organisation.

The Commission, its Master Agent and retail network support and encourage responsible gambling by allowing customers to make informed decisions about which of our games they would like to play and how often.
